One of the busiest areas to shop in Kathmandu, New Road, is a great place to shop for electronics, textiles, and other items. New Road is also the best place to bargain for goods as many shops are open to negotiation and you can find a bargain or two.

 

Bhaktapur Durbar Square

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bhaktapur Durbar Square is home to many of the City’s most important temples and palaces. It is also a great place to shop for traditional Nepalese handicrafts, as many shops sell everything from woodcarvings to metalwork.

If you’re looking to splurge on some luxury items, this is where to do it. Durbar Marg is a more upscale shopping district home to designer boutiques and international brands. You can find some amazing Nepalese handicrafts in this Kathmandu shopping precint as well.

 

Bouddha Stupa

This popular tourist destination is also home to several shops selling souvenirs, textiles, and other Nepalese goods. Be sure to wander around the stupa before shopping, as it’s truly a sight to behold to do a little Kathmandu shopping and gaze at one of its famous tourist attractions in Bouddha Stupa. Another fantastic shopping mall is One Durbar Mall, where you can find many shops ranging from electronics to accessories, gems, clothing, beauty, home décor, handicrafts, children’s clothes and toys, etc. The Mall also has coffee shops, ATMs, and salons. One Durbar Mall has it for you for all your shopping and personal needs.
