There was so much to love about travelling to Vietnam, yet in another way, it was some love-hate relationship, and I don’t mean that negatively by any stretch. Yet, as I leave your exceptional land for now, let’s stay friends because I will be back again, and I’ll be eager to eat your pho and drink your Saigon Special beer again.

Visiting Vietnam, especially Ho Chi Minh City, was fascinating. There were crazy road conditions, where traffic lights were rare, and even when they were around, it seemed to be a choice by the locals if the rules were followed. It then made attempting to cross a nearly impossible road with kids around even harder, but we managed.

In Saigon, the locals were generally friendly and polite, although some could be pushy or rude initially. The city streets were chaotic, with a constant flow of motorbikes, cars and pedestrians. At first, the hustle and bustle could be overwhelming, but as you got used to the hectic pace of life, it became easier to navigate the streets.

Life in downtown Saigon was like a rat race, with everyone rushing to get ahead. You could easily get left behind if you were too friendly or not assertive enough. Being strong and confident when crossing the street or negotiating with vendors was important.

Despite the frenetic pace of life in Saigon, I found the experience to be exhilarating and energizing. The city was full of life and activity, with colourful markets, bustling street food stalls, lively bars, and cafes.

As for the food, Vietnamese cuisine was a highlight of my trip to Saigon. The famous Vietnamese pho, a rice noodle soup, was sold in just about every food stall in the city. In addition to pho, there were many other delicious Vietnamese dishes to try, including banh mi (bread rolls filled with meat and salad), goi cuon (spring rolls) and com tam (broken rice with grilled pork).

In this place, bicycles are everywhere. Down a small alleyway, there will be bicycles. On the footpath, you guessed it, more bicycles. You can’t escape them, so it’s better to embrace their presence and get used to them. There’s nothing you can do to change the situation, so you might as well make the most of it.

Perhaps you can even join the locals and ride a bicycle yourself! After all, it’s a great way to get around while being good for the environment and your health.

Crossing the road:

Ho Chi Minh City is a bustling metropolis with a lot of traffic and narrow streets, making crossing the roads daunting for visitors. It can be pretty challenging to navigate the busy streets and avoid the constant flow of motorbikes. Unfortunately, there is no straightforward answer when crossing the roads of Ho Chi Minh City, but a few tips can help you stay safe.

First and foremost, proceed cautiously and try to cross the road slowly while keeping an eye on the traffic. It is essential to keep moving forward and avoid stopping, as the motorbikes will maneuver around you. The situation is even more alarming as these rivers are a significant part of the city’s identity and cultural heritage, and their current state embarrasses its residents.

The authorities must take immediate and decisive action to address this issue. The city’s residents and visitors deserve better, and the administration must resolve this problem. The authorities can consider implementing measures such as regular cleaning and maintenance of the rivers and stricter regulations to prevent waste from dumping into these water bodies.

And for the male readers out there, the local women are simply beautiful. So, if you give it time and patience, you may embrace Vietnamese culture and people.

As I climbed to the top of a hill on the outskirts of Dalat, my breath was taken away. The bustling town centre struck me as quite European with its unique charm; there always seemed to be something going on wherever we went – popping into loads of restaurants or shops throughout our stay kept us entertained every moment! I always stop at the Da Lat bakery as a bread and sweet lover. There’s nothing like selecting my favourite pastries, cakes and doughnuts from the immense variety available here!

And for those who love street food – Dalat has it all figured out, with soups, noodles and other tasty Vietnamese treats around every corner. Plus, you can grab some mini Kebabs on the go whenever your taste buds are calling!

Sitting atop Vietnam’s Central Highlands, the city of Da Lat holds beauty and excitement at every corner. I suggest checking out some attractions near make your stay as memorable as possible.

The impressive Dalat Cathedral is hard to miss with its grand white structure that takes centre stage among other buildings nearby – it’s worth a visit! But if you’re looking for something more surreal, check out the quirky Da Lat Crazy House, which will leave you in awe from all angles with its peculiar design throughout narrow pathways and secret passageways!

Don’t forget there are plenty of affordable ways to reach this destination during travel around Vietnam, so don’t let cost be an issue when considering stopping by here on your travels.

Escape the hustle and bustle of Dalat for a day by embarking on an unforgettable adventure! I suggest hiring a driver to take you around so that you can experience all this area has to offer. From stunning mountains, lush greenery, and endless surprises – it’s sure to be an epic journey in the great outdoors!

Prenn Waterfall will be a welcome edition when escaping the streets of Dalat, Vietnam.

I took a magical journey from the bustling urban centre to Dalat, where I saw some of nature’s most majestic wonders: waterfalls. Elephant and Prenn Waterfalls were on my itinerary – but in retrospect, I’m glad I was open-minded about exploring; it seemed that every waterfall held its unique beauty!

Beyond breathtaking natural views, there are plenty of other attractions for visitors seeking different thrills. On this trip, we made stops at coffee plantations and sampled fresh brews made with weasel droppings (not as odd as you’d think!). Many cultures have left an imprint here, too—I especially enjoyed visiting Linh Phuoc Pagoda and praying alongside locals while admiring Buddhist architecture.

And let us not forget about Da Lat Star Village, made entirely out of clay—going to give those wishes extra power! It all added up to an unforgettable holiday!

As I meandered through Da Lat, a city tucked away in Vietnam’s captivating countryside, it was as if time had slowed. There seemed to be glimpses of tradition and culture everywhere: cozy cafés embraced by stunning gardens or locals gathered around bubbling fountains – all blending harmoniously like an intricate patchwork quilt.

If ever given a chance to visit this quiet corner of our planet, I implore that you seize the opportunity! Believe me when I say – once experienced – no regret will ensue…only fond memories guaranteed from your day spent along these timelessly charming streets!
