South Korean Diaries: Day 7-9 – Insadong, Baseball and Myeongdong

Another edition of South Korean Diaries; This time, we have culture, sport and shopping, including Insadong, baseball and Myeongdong.

Our journey in Seoul was a whirlwind of activity – no matter the hour, we could always explore something new. From bustling night markets to traditional dishes, this vibrant city made us feel like we were on a real adventure!

As I look back on days 7-9 of our South Korean Diaries, I can’t help but smile at the memories we made. These three days were packed with unforgettable experiences in Seoul, but what stood out were our visits to Insadong, Baseball and Myeongdong. We got a taste of Korean culture as we wandered the charming streets of Insadong, admiring traditional art and sampling the local cuisine.

It was refreshing to combine that with an exciting day of watching a baseball game, rooting for the home team and joining in on the cheers. And to top it off, we indulged in a shopping spree at Myeongdong. With its endless options of beauty and skincare products, it became every beauty lover’s paradise. These days I honestly have something for everyone, leaving us with memories that will last a lifetime.

South Korean Diaries: Day 7-9 – Insadong, Baseball and Myeongdong

Days 7-9 of my South Korean adventure were full of fun and excitement! It was nonstop action in Seoul, from exploring the culture in Insadong to cheering on an exciting baseball game down to shopping up a storm in Myeongdong. This whirlwind tour will surely be remembered for years to come!

Day 7 – Visiting Insadong

Insadong is the perfect melding of old and new! Set in South Korea, it’s a meeting place where traditional culture blends seamlessly with modern lifestyle. Whether you’re looking to get lost in history or explore cutting-edge trends – there’s something for everyone at this cultural compound.

Despite being a multi-religious nation, South Korea honours Buddhism as their spiritual foundation with proud devotion. Our journey from the Apartment in Gyeongbokgung was full of endless discoveries. After a twenty-minute trek, we arrived at an impressive site celebrating Buddhist culture and tradition. Glowing golden lanterns hung from every wall for an upcoming festival, while statues of Buddha sat inside the hall where many followers sought guidance and peace through prayer.

Insadong is a unique blend of past and present, where one can admire the traditional displays while still being able to find modern restaurants and shops. Even though it’s meant for pedestrians only, don’t be surprised if you have to dodge an occasional van or two! From souvenir stores to hanbok shops (traditional Korean dress), cafes, tea spots – anything your heart desires- no shortage of things here will give you both refreshed with new experiences.

As we watched the beginning of a colourful parade featuring Korean music and traditional attire, it seemed like something too good to miss! We decided to explore the area during their procession along the street. To our surprise, though, when we returned after grabbing some lunch, they were back where they started with an hour-and-a-half-long performance full of singing and dancing that even got us up on our feet in a joyous celebration! It was quite a sight watching these talented performers go nonstop for so long; no doubt everyone who experienced this fantastic show walked away feeling entertained.

Insadong, Baseball and Myeongdong

Insadong will capture your attention, especially of your camera, as you become click-happy with the beautiful sites.

As the day wore on, the clouds grew darker and the air cooler. And then, just like that, the rain came pouring down. We quickly retreated to the warmth and comfort of our little apartment. For a while, we just sat there listening to the steady drumming of the rain on the roof; each lost in our thoughts. But then, hunger began to gnaw at us, and I decided to take the kids out for dinner.

We headed to Lotteria, a Korean fast-food chain like McDonald’s or Burger King but with a few fun twists. Despite the downpour outside, we were all smiles as we chowed down on our burgers and fries, savouring the warmth and coziness of our little fast food oasis. And it was worth it. The rain may have dampened our clothes but it couldn’t dampen our spirits.

Day 8   – Baseball at Jamsil Stadium

On that glorious Sunday, the scorching sun shone over Jamsil Baseball Stadium, located right outside Olympic Park in Seoul. We slowly rose out of bed and got to the stadium just before it began at two o’clock.

The moment we stepped off subway line 2, a wave of energy washed over us as people around erupted with chanting fans, delicious eats from food stalls and vibrant merchandise – all swirling together for an intense battle between Doosan Bears against Samsung Lions!

As I arrived at the stadium, I was immediately drawn to a dazzling sea of royal blue and white worn by fans supporting The Lions. Captivated by the striking colours, I could no longer resist buying one of their jerseys – instantly becoming devoted to this team that day!

Once inside Jamsil Stadium, it is undeniable how grandiose its scale truly is: from towering walls surrounding home plate, which cast an impressive shadow onto outfield seats below them up towards reaching clouds above. A spectacle for any sports enthusiast like myself who revels in such a dynamic atmosphere with a larger-than-life viewing screen right before me!

Ignoring the entertainment in the stands was hard, but that’s not to say the game was dull. The electricity in the stadium was palpable as both the home supporters and the opposing team battled it out through cheers and screams. The sounds of the crowd announcer and the dazzling cheerleaders only added to the already buzzing atmosphere.

On the contrary, it kept us in our seats until the end, with Doosan Bears ultimately taking home the win. As the game ended, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the excitement and adrenaline rush that sports always bring.

It was the perfect ending to a day filled with my favourite pastime. As I headed out into the night for a late dinner at Pho Roi, I couldn’t help but already look forward to the next game.

Day 9  – Enjoying the Vibrantcy of Myeondong

Finally, a day to take it easy. Today, we decided to hop on a train and head to Myeongdong. This bustling spot is the ultimate shopping destination, with all the big names in clothing, sporting goods, skincare, shoes, and more.

And let’s not forget about the array of food options that fill the air with mouth-watering scents. As a self-proclaimed shopaholic, this place felt like heaven on earth. It’s hard to put into words the energy that fills the streets of Myeongdong but trust me when I say it’s a sight to behold. Today may not have been much, but it was exactly what we needed.

Today was a dreamy day of putting our feet up and relaxing after a long week of the hustle and bustle. Feeling content, we ventured out to Myeongdong, a vibrant and lively Seoul neighbourhood filled with captivating sights and sounds. We took the opportunity to indulge in some delicious Korean takeout and savoured each bite with pure delight.

The day was spent leisurely, enjoying the ambience and exploring the bustling streets after a few busy days of Insadong, Baseball and Myeongdong. As the sun set, we returned to our peaceful abode, readying ourselves for the hectic day ahead. Tomorrow will be all go, go, go, but today was the perfect recharging day we needed at the DMZ Korea.

South Korean Diaries: Day 4-6 – Family Bonding in Seoul

They are exploring South Korea as a family has been an absolute dream come true. On days 4-6, it was all about spending quality time together in the bustling city of Seoul.

We visited some incredible attractions, such as Kidzania and Lotte World, that left us in awe. In addition, we also had the opportunity to delve into the country’s rich history by visiting the majestic Gyeongbokgung Palace.

However, what truly made our trip unforgettable was our visit to Hangang Park, where we had a wonderful time bonding with each other and enjoying the stunning views of the river. Our South Korean diaries are filled with incredible memories, and I can’t wait to see what other adventures await us in this great country.

Family bonding in Seoul at Hangang Park is a great escape for a whole heap of fun.

Highlights of South Korean Diaries: Day 4 – 6 – Family Bonding in Seoul

Reflecting on my recent trip to Seoul, South Korea, my heart fills with warmth as I recall our family bonding experiences on days 4-6 of our journey. From exploring the intricate architecture of Gyeongbokgung Palace to indulging in traditional Korean cuisine at a local restaurant, every moment spent with my loved ones was unforgettable.

Taking part in cultural activities like attending a Korean tea ceremony and trying on traditional clothing brought us closer, fostering a deeper understanding of each other’s perspectives. Though half a world away from home, these shared experiences made us feel more connected than ever before as we had family bonding in Seoul.

Day 4 – Kidzania in Seoul

As the train pulled into Jamsil Station on this busy holiday, we were ready for another adventure in Seoul. Our destination was Kidzania, a career centre for kids where they could try their hand at various professions. Although we had heard that this place was mainly for children, we decided to check it out and meet up with some new friends. The friendly atmosphere and fun-filled activities made us forget the crowded streets outside.

While Kidzania may have been geared towards kids, we couldn’t help but admire this place’s creativity and possibilities – it was a world of endless opportunities. We watched as our young companions made ice cream, acted as journalists, and even got a taste of what it’s like to be a pilot for Korean Air. Seeing their faces light up with excitement as they explored their dreams and aspirations was such a joy.

Parents, let’s face it: patience is a virtue. But sometimes, when you’re knee-deep in chaos and your kids are running amuck, you might need a break. Thankfully, there’s a coffee shop on the third floor where you can kick back and relax while the little ones play to their heart’s content.

Of course, if you want to go all out and give your kids an unforgettable experience, Lotte World is the place to be. It’s not cheap, but worth it for the well-crafted rides, shows, and attractions that will keep your kids entertained for hours.

After all that excitement, you’ll need a good meal. Shabu-Shabu is a must-visit restaurant where you can indulge in thinly sliced beef and seafood dipped into a bowl of boiled, spicy stock. Just trust us on this one.

shabu-shabu

After indulging in a delicious meal, going for a walk and burning those extra calories is always a good idea. And what better place to do that than in the Children’s Grand Park? Not only is the scenery jaw-droppingly beautiful, but the park also boasts various facilities such as playgrounds and sports fields.

On top of that, admission to the zoo is free, even though it may not feature all exotic animals. The indoor botanical garden is a visitor’s favourite, but the water feature is even more impressive. Beyond all that, you’ll find a variety of cafes and restaurants, meaning you’ll have everything you need at your fingertips. Playground doesn’t even describe what you’ll find here, so add the Children’s Grand Park to your Seoul itinerary.

Day 5 – A little Korean Culture

When my wife and kids left to visit family, I knew what I had to do – explore! I didn’t have to go far to stumble upon the magnificent Gyeongbokgung Palace, just a stone’s throw away from where we were staying.

The Palace is a breathtaking attraction with its vast palaces, gardens, and water features. It took me a good couple of hours to walk around the immense castle, first built in 1395 and has survived numerous difficult times, particularly with the Japanese. Overall, it was an incredible experience I wouldn’t forget anytime soon. However, I’ll save that story for my upcoming feature on Gyeongbokgung.

Gyeongbokgung Palace

Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seoul, South Korea.

My dinner that night was a Korean BBQ, an absolute must-try for any foodie. The tantalizing smell of cut-up beef sizzling on a fire in front of us was irresistible. After a day filled with cultural experiences, nothing is better than capping it off with authentic Korean cuisine.

Of course, the meal was accompanied by a range of delicious side dishes and being in Korea, it wouldn’t be complete without a bottle of Cass Beer. While it may seem daunting to venture down the side alleys in Seoul, these hidden gems are where you’ll often find some of the best restaurants in town.

So take a chance and explore; you never know what delightful treats await you in the darkness.

Day 6 – Hangang Park by the Han River

As a parent, sometimes you must get creative to entertain your kids. Today, I found myself in that exact situation. Without the help of my wife, our South Korean translator, I needed to devise a plan to make the most of our low-key day.

I decided to jump on the subway and head to Hangang Park in Seoul. The park is suitable in the city’s heart, with the beautiful Han River running alongside it. There’s so much for kids to see and do in this beautiful park, from cycling to picnicking and everything in between. It’s the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a peaceful day in nature. Even though it was just another low-key day, we turned it into a fun and memorable experience.

Spring in Seoul

Spring is beautiful in Seoul.

Our day in the bustling city was filled with excitement and adventure. We were finally able to experience the thrill of playing Aussie Rules football, much to the confusion of the locals. However, most of our time was spent exploring the city on our hired bikes, taking in the breathtaking views of the river. We stopped for lunch at a familiar palace called Mcdonald’s, perfect for refuelling with some delicious fast food.

As the day turned into night, we indulged in a delicious traditional Korean dinner of spicy and garlic chicken, delivered right to our doorstep. And to top it off, we even had tap beer produced alongside our meal. It was the perfect way to wind down and enjoy the comforts of our apartment.

South Korean Diaries: Days 1-3 – Seoul Delight for a third time

South Korean Diaries: Days 1-3 – Seoul Delight for a third time

When April 2016 arrived, I had already been to South Korea twice in 10 years, yet my anticipation for a third visit felt higher than ever. I was ready to take on two weeks of pure bliss from Seoul’s never-ending nightlife; this trip would be one incredible Seoul Delight!

For this particular trip to the East Asian country, we set up a base to spend the whole time in South Korea’s capital city instead of spreading my wings and exploring the entire country as I did in an exhausting trip in Christmas time of 2013 where I visited Busan, Jeju and Muju to name but a few top choice destinations in South Korea.

With an ideally located Airbnb apartment in the Gyeongbokgung area of the city, click here for an interesting story on my Airbnb experience; it was a perfect two weeks in the big city that is always having a party, and now let’s get into the opening part of South Korean Diaries – Days 1-3 – Seoul Delight for a third time.

South Korean Diaries: Days 1-3 – Seoul Delight for a third time

As I stepped off the plane and into the vibrant city of Seoul, I knew I was in for an adventure. This was my third time visiting this incredible city, but it never exceeded my expectations. The bustling streets were filled with locals and tourists alike, all eager to explore the many sights and sounds of the city. There was never a dull moment; from traditional markets to modern shopping centres, it simply was a Seoul delight.

Arriving in South Korea and dressing up in style, traditional style.

Day 1 – Arriving in South Korea for a Remarkable Seoul Delight

As mentioned, we arrived in South Korea for our third trip here. It has been a long, fourteen-hour flight, including transit; we are weary, exhausted and hungry. Arriving at Incheon international airport has lifted our spirits, not only because we have arrived at a glamorous and spectacular airport considered one of the world’s best but because we have arrived in a country that is undoubtedly number one in my book.

After arriving in Seoul, we made our way to Gyeongbokgung, a bustling part of the town home to the renowned Palace. Our Airbnb check-in wasn’t ready yet, so we visited a local food court for lunch and sampled authentic Korean cuisine. I opted for Dumpling Soup with rice cake – it was mouthwateringly delicious! And if that weren’t enough reward already – this gastronomic delight also came at an incredibly reasonable price! My first experience trying traditional Korean fare certainly didn’t disappoint; my hunger pangs subsided as soon as I took my first bite.

Finally, it is two in the afternoon, check-in time and up to the sixth floor of an eighteen-story apartment. The Room is ideal, kitchen, bathroom, living area and queen size bed downstairs and two beds for the kids in the loft upstairs. Perfect for a family of four. After a rest, it’s time to see the in-laws, at least my wife’s two sisters and their family; we meet at their fishing shop and eat one of Koreans finest and famous meals, bulgogi, a marinated beef grilled with vegetables, yummo. After the meal, it is home once again with the subway, it is a confusing system, but it works, and trains run all the time. We arrive at the apartment at nine pm, and it is fair we don’t remember much from there. We are all out like a light.

Day two – Exploring Gyeongbokgung

After a rejuvenating slumber, we awaken, ready to explore the wonders of South Korea! My wife – who is Korean herself – leads us on an incredible journey filled with culture and fun. Even through the bustling streets, she remains our faithful tour guide, translator, wife and mother all at once; however, this trip can be more taxing for her than it is for me as she treks back home.

We wander around the Gyeongbokgung area, a busy place is known for its office workers. It has a modern look, with trendy shops and many restaurants, mainly local cuisine. It also contains familiar names amongst the westerners, such as KFC, Starbucks and Baskin-Robbins, yum yum. Therefore it is amongst high-rise buildings and apartments, with just about every second shop in the vicinity being a café; no problem for me there; I love my coffee. But I haven’t come all this way to indulge in food I can eat at home, although I am sure my taste buds will desire it soon.

As we explored the bustling streets of Korea, my taste buds were drawn to a hidden gem of a restaurant known for its black noodles. Despite the crowded atmosphere, the restaurant staff quickly delivered our meal and ensured our satisfaction. The neatly prepared dish was a delight, and we felt delighted. Of course, no meal is complete without dessert, and Baskin-Robbins beckoned me again.

We returned to our apartment for a brief rest before meeting friends for dinner at Jokpal, a popular Korean franchise chain. The pork leg was the meal’s highlight, sliced to perfection and served with various delicious sides, including Kimchi, quickly becoming a staple of our Korean diet. After dinner, we took a leisurely walk through the brightly illuminated streets, taking in the beauty and excitement of Korea at night.

Day three – A Day at Everland Theme Park

Tuesday is our first full day out; we go to Everland, South Korea’s finest theme park and one that more than matches any in Australia. Everland is packed even on a school day, with waiting times for some events over an hour; I hear on weekends, it is up to two to three hours, but forget that. Everland is a fun day out. With Safari world and hidden Valley, a bus tour that guides you on land and water around the animals of Africa, with the likes of giraffes, Zebras, Elephants, and cheetahs, to name a few. But as traditional with most zoos, the animals are not doing much, but the Giraffe gets up close and personal during the bus ride.

It was time to take a break from the hustle and bustle of Safari World, so we stopped off at Snack Bar for lunch. With an impressive selection of Korean and Western cuisine alongside soft drinks and beer, there were plenty of delicious options – whatever your budget! After all that excitement in Everland earlier, though, it seemed like everyone had quite an appetite; the food hall was bustling with hungry visitors as we found our seats.

Everland

Enjoy the tulips of Everland, which will truly inspire the trip to Seoul – South Korea.

Everland was aglow with beauty and excitement for the Tulip Festival – a seasonal event that changes themes yearly but is awe-inspiring each time. As we marvelled at the stunning landscape of flowers, an unforgettable parade strode through, bringing colour and animation to fill our eyes! The tunes were infectious as floats danced past us in celebration.

Not to be outdone, Dad took Lucas on his maiden voyage aboard the regal Pirate Ship ride – it’s clear they suited both young ones and big kids alike who would not resist its appeal! This made for one spectacular day spent amongst family…and tulips galore!

It was South Korea; it was a Seoul delight.

Let’s take a closer look at what you can do inside the hidden gem of South Korea and set yourselves up for an incredible adventure for your next trip to the East Asia Country.

Muju

Muju, South Korea.

Where is Muju-Gun

Muju is located in the central part of South Korea, in the eastern corner of the North Jeolla Province.

It’s a good three hours from the capital Seoul and at least six hours from Busan, South Korea’s second largest city in the Southeast part of the East Asia country.

How to Get there

The easiest way to get Muju is a bus from Seoul terminal to the Muju bus terminal, about three hours.

From there, you can either catch a bus shuttle to the main resort. Another option is to take a taxi to the more affordable accommodations a stone throw from the resorts and ski slopes.

When I left for Muju, we did it the hard way, and I strongly recommend you avoid this path especially if you don’t speak Korean, I would have never made it if not for my Korean wife.

We left from Busan and caught about three different buses through various towns, before finally getting a taxi for the remainder of the forty-five minute trip to our pension in Muju.

Do yourself a favour and leave for Muju from the capital Seoul.

Where to stay in Muju

Muju has many Guesthouses and Pensions that are at a very affordable price. We stayed at the Dasup Pension, and besides the booking issues, it was a lovely pension with large spacious rooms.

Across from the Pension was many restaurants serving only local cuisines at an excellent price. The Pension is also located at the foot of hiking track that heads towards the Gondola that overlooks the central Deogyusan Resort.

If you are looking for a bit more luxury, then Deogyusan Resort is the place to be for the whole family. The resorts have local and western food, many shops, Kids fun centre where can ride a sled down the slopes.

It also gives you a cappuccino fix at the Tom-N-Toms café. The resort is quite spectacular, and if you are willing to pay that little bit more, I strongly recommend it.

Things to do in Muju

  • Skiing: Skiing and snowboarding, take a pick. It is the reasons thousands venture to the slopes in winter to get their adrenalin hit. Be warned though, on weekends you will be waiting a while to get up the lifts.

  • Bandi Land and Observatory: An insect museum on the outskirts of Muju. Study the insects of the world and how they came to happen over hundreds of years of history. The picturesque museum is quite different, but a treat and educational for the whole family as you learn about insects and its fascinating history.

  • Hiking: Having young kids in tow, we couldn’t hike up the mountains with the freedom we desired, like the professionals did with there hiking poles and boots.

We did, however, venture out along the trails in Deogyusan National Park that eventually leads to the Gondola overlooking the resort.

Our part of the hike was simply breathtaking, with the glacial valley below and the mountains saturated with the overnight snow.

Having snowball fights in and around the bare trees is a must for the kids and adults. You are never too old to be a little young at heart.

  • Deogyusan Resort: The best part of Muju with plenty of family-friendly activities on offer.

You can entertain the kids in the resort at the Kids centre, with sleds down the slopes that was a huge hit. Travel up the Gondola and enjoy a coffee at the café when you get up top. Ski or snowboard down the ski slopes, remembering on the weekends it gets very crowded.

The resort is also the best place to get your western food fix at Lotteria, a burger joint. Domino pizza is also available, as well as local Korean cuisine of course.

  • Tae Kwon Do Park: Unfortunately this fantastic centre had not opened when I ventured to Muju in 2013.

However, it is now open for the public, and I have heard it is quite stunning. Google it and check it out, because I know you need to add this incredible park to the list.

The Tae Kwon Do Park is described as the spiritual home of Tae Kwon Do. I wish I could tell you more, but below is a picture of the billboard when I was in Muju.

Take a trip to Beautiful Busan in South Korea

Take a trip to Beautiful Busan in South Korea

I admit I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I decided to visit Busan during the winter season. But I knew I was in for a treat as soon as I arrived. The city’s towering architectures were simply breathtaking, and the picturesque landscapes left me feeling awestruck.

I found myself wandering around the trendy shopping areas, mesmerized by the sights and sounds of this vibrant city. And as I made my way to the serene beaches, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of calm wash over me.

Despite the chilly winds, Busan had a warmth to it that I couldn’t quite explain – and it was the perfect escape from the freezing weather in Seoul. I can only imagine how magical it must be during the summer, but even in the winter, Busan left me wanting more.

Travelling to Beautiful Busan in South Korea

Explore Busan, the stunning coastal city in South Korea. Busan has something for everyone, from its vibrant nightlife to dazzling temples and breathtaking beaches! Come experience a culture like no other as you make memories travelling to this majestic destination.

Getting to beautiful Busan

My recent trip to Busan was a breeze thanks to the easy transportation options available. While a domestic flight was an option, my friends and I decided to opt for the KTX speed train from Seoul. The three-hour journey flew by as we gazed out at the scenic countryside of Korea from our clean and comfortable seats. Plus, the convenience of purchasing snacks from the cart made the trip even more enjoyable.

Whether travelling within South Korea or flying in from around the world, accessing Busan is a hassle-free experience with the Gimhae International Airport just minutes away. For those up for an adventure, renting a car or catching a bus are also great options. Regardless of how you get there, Busan is well worth the journey.

KTX Train Price: Economy class 53000W – $60 one way First Class 74600W – AUD 85 one way.

Haeundae Beach

As someone who visited Busan during winter, I can attest that Haeundae Beach is still a must-see destination. While the crowds may not be as large, there is no shortage of things to do or sights to behold. With the beach practically all to myself, I enjoyed leisurely walks and even caught a nightly entertainment show.

But what truly captured my heart were the local restaurants – I couldn’t get enough of the irresistible Korean BBQ joint that became my go-to spot for meals, even on Christmas Day. If you’re a foodie like me or love experiencing beautiful new places, Haeundae Beach is the spot to check out.

As I stepped out into the streets of Busan on my first Christmas away from Australia, I was quickly hit with a culture shock. Everything was open, bustling with people and noise. Back at home, we shut down for the holidays, everything quiet as people retreated into their homes.

But Busan, like Seoul, is a city that never sleeps. We stayed in Haeundae at an affordable little motel called On Motel. While space was a bit of a squeeze for two adults and two kids, the convenience and cleanliness made up for it. If you’re on a budget, there’s nothing wrong with the ON Motel. As we wandered through the streets, taking in the sights and sounds of a busy Christmas day, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for this new experience.

Shinsegae Centum City

I’ve visited many department stores, but none like the Shinsegae Centum City. As soon as I stepped off the train and walked through the front doors, I was blown away by the stunning food court. I couldn’t resist trying all the fantastic options, from fast food to local cuisine to freshly baked pastries.

Of course, I quickly realized that prices were steep, but it was all worth it. And the shopping experience was just getting started! With nine floors dedicated to everything from men’s and women’s clothing to a kid’s section, Shinsegae had me covered. They even have a golf range, which made my husband’s day. All in all, I’ve never seen a department store quite like Shinsegae and can’t wait to go back.

Get there: Catch a train on Subway Line 2 and get to Centum City.

Jagalchi Fish Market

I may not be a huge seafood fan, but visiting the Jagalchi Fish Market in Busan was an eye-opening experience. The colourful markets and side streets were an adventure in themselves, but the fresh seafood and unusual ocean creatures genuinely amazed me.

The lively and bustling atmosphere captured my attention from start to finish. Lobsters were crawling around in their tanks and even lived octopuses that some brave visitors were devouring. Walking around, I couldn’t help but dodge the motorbikes scooting around without a care.

Even though I didn’t try the live octopus, I highly recommend visiting Jagalchi to anyone who wants to witness the diverse variety of seafood and marine life that exists in this world.

Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

I can’t help but feel excited as I recount my experience visiting the Haedong Yonggungsa Temple in Busan. I had heard from locals that this was the best place to go, and boy were they right! The temple was breathtakingly beautiful, with a perfect blend of modern and traditional architecture.

The best part? It’s on the coast, with waves crashing against the rocks below. The sound of the waves provided a sense of tranquillity that instantly put me at ease. Whether you’re an adventure-seeker, a history buff or a photographer, this temple has something to offer everyone. Ensure this is on your list of things to do in Busan – you won’t regret it!

Conclusion of beautiful Busan

As I bid farewell to Busan, I can’t help but feel a sense of admiration for this beautiful city. From the stunning beaches to the mesmerizing temples, Busan has exceeded all my expectations. I’ve explored the bustling markets and indulged in the local cuisine, witnessed the breathtaking sunrise at Haeundae Beach and soaked in the therapeutic hot springs.

As the night set in, the city came alive with an array of activities, and I found myself immersed in the buzzing nightlife of Busan. As I reminisce about my time here, I highly recommend adding Busan to your travel itinerary. Trust me; it’ll be worth it.
