A Quick and Easy Vacation Guide to Australia

So you have decided to have a vacation to the land of Oz? While there is much to learn about the vast country, let’s get you started with this quick and easy vacation guide to Australia.

The Australian Beaches

Beaches are aplenty in Australia, and you definitely won’t be disappointed by the quality or quantity. From Whitehaven Beach to Byron Bay, there’s a beach for everyone. And if you need some help deciding which ones to visit, check out this list of the best beaches in Australia.

If you’re looking for a beach with excellent surf or family fun in the calm of the Bay, a suitable beach is available for any type of traveller.

Hamelin Bay in Western Australia is an ideal beach for families.

Adventurous activities

If you’re looking for something a little more active, there are plenty of options. Hiking, surfing, and snorkelling are all popular activities Down Under. And if you want to get your heart pumping, try skydiving or bungee jumping – both widely available across the country.

No matter what time of year you visit Australia, there’s always something to do. Fishing is one of the most popular activities in Australia; check out Fishing charters Gold Coast. You can also go whale watching or explore one of the many national parks.

Something Relaxing

Suppose you’re looking for something a little more relaxed, with plenty of cafes and restaurants. You can also visit one of the local wineries in the area or go on a bushwalk through one of the stunning rainforests.

Even the ideal relaxation is to pitch a tent and camp under the stars. How Australian or relaxing is that to go on a camping trip, with a few drinks, local tucker and enjoy stories in the cool of the night.

On The Move

Another great option is to take a train through Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside. The Ghan train trip will take you from Darwin to Adelaide, through the red centre of Australia.

A scenic train ride is an excellent option to see Australia’s natural beauty without worrying about driving. Instead, you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride as you take in all that Australia offers.

There are plenty of other great options for getting around Australia as well. You can take a bus, rent a car, or even a motorhome if you feel adventurous. But, no matter how you choose to get around, you’re sure to have a great time exploring all that Australia offers.

Australia’s Wildlife

Australia is home to some of the most unique and exciting animals globally. There’s an animal for everyone to see, from kangaroos and koalas to crocodiles and snakes.

If you’re looking to get up close and personal with some of these creatures, there are plenty of opportunities in Zoos or local wildlife parks.

Otherwise, you can go on a safari in one of the many national parks, go diving with sharks, or even hold a koala! Heck, even while travelling the country, you may see some local wildlife in the wild.

The Rich Culture

There are also plenty of opportunities to learn about Australia’s rich Indigenous culture. For example, you can visit an Aboriginal cultural centre, participate in a traditional dot painting workshop, or go on a bush walk with an Indigenous guide.

You’ll find these cultural experiences of the Indigenous in many destinations in Australia. The ideal way to see history or cultural tours is to go into a local Information or tourism office and grab a brochure. Otherwise, google it.

The Great Barrier Reef

The iconic natural wonder, the Great Barrier Reef, is one of Australia’s most popular tourist destinations. Located off the coast of Queensland, this natural wonder is home to an incredible array of marine life. Snorkelling and scuba diving are popular activities here, and there are plenty of tour operators offering both day trips and longer excursions.

A great way to see the Barrier reef is to have a holiday at the magnificent Hamilton Island and enjoy a day tour; I know it well from when I was younger and had the privilege to see the reef with my own eyes. It was an unbelievable experience.

Watch The Turtles Hatch On Heron Island

If you’re looking for a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience, head to Heron Island off the coast of Queensland to watch turtles hatch. Every year, between October and March, hundreds of Green and Loggerhead turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. Then, around two months later, the tiny turtles make their way back into the ocean.

You can take a glass-bottom boat tour to see the turtles swimming around the coral reef or even go snorkelling or diving with them. And, of course, you can sit back and relax on the beautiful sandy beaches. Heron Island is truly a nature lover’s paradise.

Explore The Cities

Australia is a vast country with plenty to see and do, but if you’re short on time, hit the highlights in the cities. First, start your trip to Sydney, where you can explore world-famous landmarks like the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

Then head inland to Melbourne to check out its trendy laneways and unique street art. Finally, make your way up to Brisbane to see the city’s multicultural influences.

Don’t forget about the Wild West, one of the most beautiful cities in the country; I speak of Perth. It’s an incredible city of excellent beaches, a city by the Swan River, and many unique parks and gardens.

Australia is a land of natural beauty and wonder, and there’s no better way to experience it than on vacation! You’ll never be bored in Australia with so much to see and do. So what are you waiting for when thinking of a holiday in Australia? Start planning your trip today!
