If you want to be at the centre of all things hip and happening in Bali, look no further than the ‘Gu.

Of course, I’m referring to Canggu.

This coastal village of Canggu, Bali is famous among surfers, digital as nomads, yogis, and other travellers. It’s the newest development in Bali and is dubbed the “new Seminyak.”

Canggu is known for its terrific surf breaks, black sand beaches, fantastic food, but most importantly – the breathtaking Bali sunsets that you can enjoy during the evening times.

There is no doubt about it, Canggu is one of the best places in Bali to catch front-row seats and watch the sun dip in the horizon, that is surrounded in an authentic tropical vibe that the island is well-known for.

5 Best Places to Watch the Sunset in Canggu – Bali

1. La Brisa

A personal favourite of mine, La Brisa is a brand-new establishment (it opened late last year) situated right on the trendy Echo Beach. La Brisa’s décor is a combination of bohemian, tropical, and furnishings that remind me of a sunken shipwreck – in the most stylish way possible!

Grab some beanbags facing the sea with a cold cocktail as you munch on delicious Spanish cooking while you watch a Canggu sunset. La Brisa also has a pool, ideal for families who want to take their kids along for a dip safely, away from the waves of Echo beach.

2. The Lawn in Canggu

Located on Batu Bolong beach, the Lawn is a chic, swanky place to catch the sunset Canggu.

The Lawn is newly renovated and now has two stories of cosy viewing spots, bean bags, an infinity pool overlooking the sea, manicured grass, and the iconic Balinese umbrellas – making it a must-visit for any traveller going to Canggu.

They have a fantastic selection of cocktails and wine, plus great music to boot! It offers a much more relaxed vibe if you’re looking for something similar to Finn’s Beach Club, but with less of the crowds.

3. Old Man’s

If you want to rub elbows with surfers and get the party started before the sunset in Canggu, head over to Old Man’s at Batu Bolong.

Every day of the week is happening here; you’ll find live music that trickles onto the late nights, beach fare, and good value for money.

If you’re feeling funky, check out Dirty Old Wednesday to participate in beer pong and possibly some dancing – on the tables, where else?

4. Echo Beach Main Access

At the end of Padan Linjong is a quiet area where you’ll find surf shops and small restaurants overlooking the sea and you’ll find the Echo Beach is up there with the best sunset in Canggu.

If you’re on a budget, this area is highly recommended for cheap but delicious eats, cold Bintang, and priceless views while viewing the Bali Sunset.

5. La Laguna

Famous particularly for the bamboo pathway that leads to Canggu’s beaches, La Laguna is a favourite sunset spot especially for couples looking for some romance.

The restaurant and bar offer sweeping views of the lagoon on Berawa beach, plus they have an excellent selection of top-shelf liquor, cocktails, and beach bites.
