Get up close with koalas

After visiting Sydney, one of the first stops along your route is Port Macquarie, where you’ll find the famous Koala Hospital. While you won’t be able to hold or touch a koala (it’s illegal in New South Wales), you will get the opportunity to see many of them, as well as find out about the fantastic conservation work being done at the hospital to protect them. A lovely experience with one of Australia’s most treasured animals, this stop is a must for your trip.

Enjoy not one, but 48 national parks Along the Way

While you will get to explore and enjoy hundreds of miles of striking coastlines, you’ll also pass through several national parks en route along the Pacific Coast drive. Make a point to stop at Bouddi National Park along your journey, a stunning sight to see combining rainforest and marine life to offer a unique experience as you make your way through the Central Coast.

Stop and enjoy the water – Activities Are Waiting

The great thing about the Pacific Coast Drive is that you can take it all at your own pace, giving you plenty of time to stop and enjoy the water. One top recommendation is to visit Nelson’s Lagoon, which you’ll find in Mimosa Rocks National Park. It’s a secluded spot where you can enjoy stand up paddle board experiences and other water adventures to help you make the most of your trip. If you can enjoy a spot of sailing along your journey, it does come highly recommended, and there’ll be ample opportunities to enjoy the Australian coast along the way.
