The quickest and easiest way is to fly into the Perth Airport and then take a short drive down south.

You can also take a bus or train from Perth, which takes around an hour and a half.

If you’re driving from another city in Western Australia, the town is accessible via the Kwinana Freeway.

However, the most enjoyable thing to do at the Foreshore is vital along the banks of the water and admire the views. You may even witness some light shows over the water during the busy tourist months, particularly in summer.

Water activities in the Peel Inlet

The massive Peel Inlet covers a space of 134km2, which means there is a fair amount of water activities you can partake in on the Inlet.

Fun water activities include swimming, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, jet skiing and fishing. In season, you can even drop the net and try and catch a few crabs; remember to keep those crabs only incorrect size, or the rangers will be out to get you.

Mandurah Ocean Marina

The Ocean Marina is one of the best things to do in Mandurah if you’re looking for a place to relax and enjoy a gentle stroll.

It’s right near Dolphin Quay, so once you’re done exploring the Marina, the Indian Ocean and checking out a few fancy yachts, you can go to the Quay for dinner and drinks.

 

Watch Stunning Sunsets at a variety of Mandurah Beaches.

Many things to do in Western Australia include watching a stunning sunset. After all, it is the most isolated state in the world with a massive Western coastline.

Mandurah has a string of beaches that rival anywhere in Australia, if not the world and sunset is the perfect time to enjoy the fabulous beaches.

Some of my favourite beaches to watch a sunset in Mandurah include:

– Mandurah Ocean Marina Beach

– Halls Head Beach

– Falcon Bay Beach

– Pyramids Beach

Although, you’ll find many ideal spots in Mandurah to bunker down and watch the sun fade over the Indian Ocean.

Shopping Bonanza at Mandurah Forum

Did anyone say shopping?

If you’re looking for things to do in Mandurah, you can’t go past the Forum.

This large shopping centre is home to various shops and restaurants and a variety of sit-down cafes for a coffee hit. You’ll also find an extensive range of clothing brand outlets that come at quite a price. 

Whether you’re looking for a new outfit, purchase a few accessories or wish to window shop, the Mandurah Forum is the perfect place to spend an afternoon.

Many famous brand outlets are available at the Forum, including Kmart, Big W, Coles, JB Hi-Fi, Woolworths and many more.

 

Family Fun at King Carnival

The King Carnival is an excellent activity to do with kids. The King Carnival is a family-friendly amusement park just outside the city centre and situated opposite the other side of the bridge to the main Foreshore area.

The amusement park has a variety of rides and attractions, making it the perfect place to spend a day with the family, get a little dizzy and enjoy plenty of laughs.

The King Carnival is only open on weekends from 10 am to 5 pm.

 

Explore the Creery Wetland Nature Reserve

The Creery Wetland Nature Reserve is a scenic wetland to explore alongside the Peel Inlet; It is home to various birds and wildlife.

The Nature Reserve is the perfect place to take a stroll and enjoy the peace of the wetland. You’ll even find a very popular Nourishing the Soul Cafe at the entrance to the Wetlands.m Be warned; the cafe can get very busy. 

The reserve is open from sunrise to sunset. However, remember to apply mosquito repellant.

 

Creery wetlands

Enjoy exploring the Creery Wetlands, and even stop by the Nourishing the Soul Cafe.

 

Remember the Fallen at Mandurah War memorial.

Situated in a scenic spot alongside the Western Foreshore in the Memorial Park, the Mandurah War Memorial is a beautiful and poignant place to visit to remember the fallen.

The memorial commemorates those who lost their lives during World War I, II, and the Vietnam War.

 

Swim at one of the best beaches in Mandurah

As mentioned earlier, Mandurah has some of the best beaches in Australia.

So, it would be a crime not to include swimming on this list of things to do in Mandurah.

Enjoy the Scenic Views of the Dawesville Cut

The Dawesville Cut is a manufactured channel that connects the Peel Inlet to the Indian Ocean.

It was created to make it easier for boats to access the Peel Inlet.

The Dawesville Cut provides some of Mandurah’s most beautiful and scenic views. You can enjoy these views by taking a stroll along the Dawesville Cut or boat ride through the channel.
