Australind is a great place to visit if you’re looking for a quiet day trip or a weekend stay. While it’s not as popular as other tourist destinations in Western Australia, there are still plenty of things to do in Australind.
This little town has something for everyone, from nature walks and fishing spots to charming cafes and restaurants. If you’re looking for a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of city life, Australind is the perfect destination!
The boutique but picturesque town will always hold humble favouritism personally, for reasons I’ll keep to myself. However, I have never encountered a city that offers residential, coastal, and country life all in one, and for that, Australind is quite charming.
Another bonus: Western Australia’s biggest Regional City, Bunbury, is only fifteen minutes away. So who is to say you can’t set up base in one of the humble caravan parks in Australia and explore the South West Region at your leisure?

Where is Australind in Western Australia
Australind is a small town located approximately 11 kilometres southeast of Bunbury in the South West region of Western Australia. This peaceful town is surrounded by natural beauty and is an ideal starting point for exploring the area.
The town’s proximity to the city and the coast makes it an excellent base for those who want to explore the nearby attractions, including the beautiful Leschenault Peninsula. Visitors can enjoy various activities, from hiking and cycling to swimming, fishing, and boating.

How to get there from Perth to Australind
The best way to get from Perth to Australind is by car, driving down the Forrest Highway until the exit points. The journey from Perth to Australia will take approximately two hours by car or longer if you elect to go by bus.
The Australind train service also runs daily from Perth to Bunbury. You can get a bus, taxi or Uber to your next destination upon arrival at the Bunbury terminal.

Some accommodation options are available in Australind, including motels and caravan parks. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay overnight, the Australind Tourist Park is a great option. This caravan park offers affordable accommodation with all the necessary amenities and is close to all the things to do in Australia.
Another option is The Leschenault Inlet Caravan Park. It may not look stunning, but all you need to do is look across to the Estuary, and the choice will not be regretful.
Of course, if you’re having trouble finding accommodation, there are plenty of places to stay in Bunbury.
Places to eat in Australind
There are plenty of things to do in Australind, but one of the best things to do is eat! This little town has excellent cafes and restaurants serving delicious food using fresh produce.
In the Treendale part of the town, you’ll find ample places to eat in Australind, like Chinese and Thai restaurants, pizza shops, and many cafes. For those who love fast food, McDonald’s, KFC, and Hungry Jack’s are also situated in the Treendale area, outside the shopping centre.
At the Australind Village Shopping Centre, as well as the Coles and Aldi supermarkets, there are a few places to get a bite. Fish, chips, bakeries, a Chinese Restaurant, Chicken Treat, and Benesse Cafe exist.
History of the Southwest Township
