Give In To Thrilling Adventure Sports

The desert is so beautiful that you might want to sit down and write a poem about it, but there is no time for that now. Instead, it’s time for some exciting activities. First up is dune bashing, which is not about bashing into dunes but rather being driven at high speed to the top of the tallest dunes and coming down just as quickly until you bounce halfway up the next dune. It’s like a roller coaster ride in the desert, an experience unlike any other, even if you’ve been to Disneyworld a million times. Get ready for the thrill of your life!

Next is quad biking, which is easy to learn and offers a chance to cycle over the ups and downs of the desert valley, the crooked hard wadis, the craggy cliffs, and the soft dunes. If you’ve quad-biked before, you’ll be amazed at experiencing so many different terrains in one place.

Then, there is camel riding, a unique adventure in itself. Riding a camel on the undulating sands of the desert is a challenge, as the camel is a cantankerous creature that will try to shake and sway its way to make you uncomfortable. The desert camel is decorated with bells, whistles, and embroidered saddle blankets, making you feel like the lord or lady of the desert.

Finally, sandboarding is a thrilling sport similar to surfing in the sea. You’ll hold on to your board for dear life as you zip down the dunes at incredible speeds and bounce up the next dune. It’s a thrilling sport that you’ll soon get hooked on.

The sunset is just as magnificent when the sun disappears behind the clouds.

The colours change in the reverse order, and you’ll be left breathless when the sun bids final goodbye to the day. The only caution we can give you is to sign up for a desert safari with a reliable tour operator, such as Rayna Tours, and you’ll be guaranteed a blissful, trouble-free experience.

Iceland – A Destination for Everyone’s Bucket List

Iceland has long been a destination I have wanted to visit, and it has recently made it onto my bucket list. From its majestic glaciers to the famous Blue Lagoon, this unique country has so much to explore. From its hot springs, geysers, and volcanoes, Iceland truly has something for everyone and provides you with some of the most incredible picturesque nature scenes you can imagine seeing while driving the ring road of Iceland.

Relax in the Blue Lagoon and other Hot Springs

Imagine this!!! Sitting in one of the fresh hot springs of Iceland and enjoying the warmth of the water against your body, all thanks to the natural discharge of the hot water from the earth. In the process, remind yourself that the outside temperatures are near freezing, but that is little of concern to you while dipping in the refreshing hot springs.

Hot springs are commonly found in Iceland, but none are more famous than the Blue Lagoon, one of the country’s most visited attractions in the Lava field of the southwest of Iceland. The Blue Lagoon is approximately 45 minutes from Reykjavik’s capital city, making it easy for tourists to arrive at the picturesque surroundings and swim in the warm waters.

Other hot springs to visit in Iceland, amongst many others, include the Volcanic Lake of Myvatn in the northern parts and the Secret Lagoon, the country’s oldest natural hot springs.

A protected National Park, Pingvellir is famous for all tourists because of its incredible beauty; it features rocky cliffs, lakes and historical sites, making a great day out exploring the region.

When you’ve had enough of exploring the country’s nature (if possible), how about wandering through Reykjavik? The country’s capital is located on the west coast and is unique to other capital cities around the world, which doesn’t have any sky-rise buildings that will hinder the gorgeous views of the surrounding region.

A couple of the main features of Reykjavik include the Hallgrimskirkja Church and the rotating Perlan glass dome, which comes with views of the nearby coastal area. If you like a history lesson about Iceland and its past Viking days, check out the National and Sage museums for further education.

Kyoto in Japan – A City Exceeding its High Expectations

Travelling to a new destination can be a thrilling experience, but it can also be daunting when you have high expectations. I remember feeling this way when I visited Kyoto in Japan. I had heard so much about the city’s beauty, history, and culture that I worried it would not live up to the hype. However, my fears were quickly put to rest once I arrived in Kyoto.

Kyoto is a city that is rich in history and tradition. Everywhere you look, there are reminders of the city’s past, from the ancient temples and shrines to the traditional architecture. One of the things that struck me the most about Kyoto was how well-preserved the city’s cultural heritage is. It’s easy to see why Kyoto was once the capital of Japan and remains a cultural centre to this day.

In addition to its cultural heritage, Kyoto is a city of outstanding natural beauty. Mountains and forests surround the town, with many parks and gardens. One of my favourite places to visit was the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, where I walked through a forest of towering bamboo stalks that seemed to go on forever.

Tradition is alive on the streets of Kyoto City.

When visiting Japan, one of the most striking things you’ll notice is the Japanese’s pride in their culture. This pride is evident when you set foot on the streets, where you’ll see many locals donning traditional kimonos to showcase centuries of history.

It’s not just the women who dress in kimonos, either. Although it’s more common to see women wearing them, men also partake in this tradition, particularly for special events such as weddings or festivals. Even Western tourists can join in on the fun by renting a kimono. It’s an excellent way to immerse yourself in the culture and will not feel out of place in Kyoto.

If you want to experience the vibrant street markets and attractions where kimonos are often on display, there are plenty of places to explore. For instance, Fushimi Inari Shrine, one of the most famous shrines in Japan, is known for its thousands of vermilion torii gates. Here, you’ll see many locals and tourists dressed in kimonos, offering a unique opportunity to take pictures and fully immerse yourself in Japanese culture.

Finally, Ninenzaka is a pedestrian thoroughfare that shouldn’t be missed. It’s a great place to stroll and admire the stunning Japanese architecture and tea houses. The street is lined with cherry blossom trees, making it a popular spot during the spring season.

Overall, Kyoto is a fantastic destination to explore Japanese culture, and dressing up in a kimono is an excellent way to immerse yourself in the experience fully.

Cleanliness and politeness are a way of life.

Walking the streets of Kyoto is an experience unlike any other. The city, with its population of approximately 1.5 million people, is a bustling metropolis that somehow manages to maintain a level of simply astonishing cleanliness. Walking down the roads, you’ll notice hardly any rubbish in the gutters or sidewalks. This level of cleanliness is a rare find, and it’s something that the people of Kyoto take great pride in.

But it’s not just the streets that are immaculate. The cleanliness extends into the city’s malls, restaurants, cafes, and hotels. Everything looks fresh and clean down to the smallest detail, which can be attributed to the Japanese culture’s emphasis on perfectionism and attention to fact.

It won’t surprise you that Kyoto, like the rest of Japan, is home to an amiable race of people. Politeness is noticeable from the outset, whether checking in or out of a hotel, buying a coffee, or simply getting around the city and minding your business. The locals are always willing to help and are incredibly respectful of others, making it a fantastic city to explore and immerse yourself in. So, if you’re looking for a destination that offers both cleanliness and friendliness, Kyoto should be at the top of your list.

The Mitsui Hotel Rooms

During my recent visit to Osaka, I enjoyed staying at the Mitsui Hotel, a cozy and comfortable 3-star hotel in the city’s heart. As a solo traveller, I only needed a single room with a double bed, air conditioning, WIFI, a private bathroom, and a television with only local channels.

The room was not very spacious but cozy and comfortable, and I had no issues with my stay. The hotel offers several room types to cater to different needs, including superior and deluxe rooms suitable for couples and families. These rooms have additional amenities such as a fridge, a microwave, and a giant television with international channels, making them ideal for a more comfortable and luxurious stay.

The Mitsui Hotel Osaka is an excellent choice for those looking for a budget-friendly hotel that offers comfortable and clean accommodations in a convenient location. It is located near several attractions in Osaka, including the Osaka Castle and the Shitennoji Temple, making it an excellent base for exploring the city.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay at the Mitsui Hotel Osaka, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay in Osaka. For your reference, I paid around AUD 100 for a single room, which is reasonable considering the hotel’s location and amenities.

The Lounge, Lobby and Restaurant Area

As soon as you enter the hotel, you will be welcomed by the lounge and lobby area, the first places you see. It’s a great way to start your stay at the hotel. The lobby is a spacious area with a few lounge chairs and the reception desk, where the friendly staff is always ready to assist you with any requests. Most of the reception staff can speak English fluently.

Moving to the lounge area, located across the lobby, you will find many comfortable lounge seats where guests can relax and enjoy free complimentary coffee or tea while mingling with other guests. The lounge also provides computers for urgent business work, and free WiFi is available throughout the hotel.

The hotel serves breakfast every morning at an additional charge. Although I did not try it, they offer a delicious Japanese-style buffet, according to other guests. I opted for cheaper options outside the hotel.

The Good Bits of Mitsui Osaka

The Mitsui Hotel is a luxurious hotel that takes great pride in providing its guests with an exceptional experience. From the moment you set foot on the premises, you can see the hotel’s commitment to cleanliness and attention to detail. The lobby is spacious, elegantly decorated, and impeccably clean, creating a welcoming atmosphere and setting the tone for your stay.

As you go through the hotel, you’ll notice that the cleanliness extends beyond the lobby and into every nook and cranny, from the lounge to the hallways and the private rooms. You won’t find a speck of dust anywhere, which is a testament to the hotel’s high standards of cleanliness.

One of the standout features of the Mitsui Hotel is the Free Rental smartphone that’s available for guests. This smartphone is an excellent value for travellers in Osaka who need an instant internet connection. The smartphone has all the necessary features, including links to maps and city guides, making it an ideal tool for tourists.

From the on-site restaurant that serves delicious Japanese cuisine to the fitness centre and spa that offer relaxation and rejuvenation, the hotel has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The bad bits

The Mitsui Hotel Osaka is situated in a location that is not very central. However, getting to the city’s famous tourist attractions and landmarks is not too difficult, as most can be accessed within 30 minutes by train. While you may not be staying right in the heart of the bustling city, you can easily explore its many wonders.

One minor downside to my stay at the Mitsui Hotel Osaka was that no bottled water was provided in my room. As someone who travels often and has stayed in many hotels, I was surprised by this, given that even most 3-star hotels offer bottled water as a basic amenity. This was particularly unexpected, as I had experienced the opposite at Mitsui Kyoto, where bottled water was provided daily.

While these are relatively minor issues, it’s worth noting that some guests may find them to be a bit of a nuisance. However, it’s important to note that the overall experience at Mitsui Hotel Osaka is still positive. The staff members are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. This could be an excellent option if you’re looking for a hotel with a good balance of convenience and comfort.

Fair Dinkum Traveller Rating

During my recent stay at the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by its comfort and convenience. When I checked in, I was greeted by friendly and helpful staff who made me feel right at home.

The hotel room was spacious and well-maintained, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and stocked with fresh towels, and the room had a TV, a mini-fridge, and a coffee maker.

One of the things I appreciated most about the hotel was its location. It was in a convenient and accessible area, close to various shops, restaurants, and attractions. Thanks to the hotel’s central location, I found getting around and exploring the site accessible.

While my stay at the hotel was enjoyable overall, a few minor issues prevented me from giving it a higher rating. For example, the WiFi connection in my room was a bit slow and unreliable, which made it difficult to get work done. Additionally, the breakfast options were limited and not particularly impressive.

Despite these issues, I would still consider returning to the hotel. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend it to others looking for comfortable and convenient accommodation. I would rate my experience a 6 out of 10.

Hotel Review – Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shijo

I had the opportunity to visit Kyoto, Japan, and my experience there was fantastic. I had a great time exploring the city and its beautiful tourist attractions. However, one of the highlights of my trip was my stay at the Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shijo.

As a solo traveller, finding a comfortable and safe place to stay is essential, especially when travelling to a new location. I was looking for a boutique hotel with private amenities to make my stay comfortable. After doing thorough research, I came across Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shijo on Booking.com, which had great reviews.

The hotel’s staff was hospitable, welcoming, and always ready to assist me with any questions or concerns. The room was cozy and clean and had all the amenities I needed during my stay. The bed was comfortable, and I had a great night’s sleep every night.

Mitsui Hotel Chain

Mitsui hotels are standard in Japan; I used their services for my stay in Osaka and Kyoto. Hence, the long name describes the hotel in Kyoto; there are a few in the city, and I don’t wish to confuse you in deciding which hotel to stay at in Kyoto.

Where is the Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shijo

Mitsui Hotel Shijo is in the heart of Kyoto City. It is situated in the Shijo area, with the Shijo and Shijo Omiya train stations close walking distance to the hotel and numerous bus services that can take you out to major attractions in Kyoto, such as Arashiyama and Fushimi Irani Shrine.

Nearby attractions to the hotel include Nijo Castle, Nishiki Markets and the Kyoto Imperial Palace. Many restaurants and shopping outlets are situated nearby, especially along the main strip, which is located just off the hotel’s main entrance.

The rooms of Mitsui Kyoto

During my stay at Mitsui Kyoto, I found the place ideal for solo travellers. The room was small, with a single bed. Still, it had everything I needed, such as a television, portable air-conditioning, a private bathroom, WIFI, and a pocket WIFI that I could use during my adventures around Kyoto. Additionally, the pocket WIFI provided exclusive deals for in-hotel dining, which was a nice touch.

One of the best things about my stay was the location of Mitsui Kyoto. It was in the heart of Kyoto, meaning I was within walking distance of many top tourist attractions, such as the Nishiki Market and the Gion district. I also appreciated the level of cleanliness and comfort in the room, which made me feel right at home.

If you are looking for bigger rooms, Mitsui Hotel Shijo offers rooms suitable for everyone, from singles to couples and families. They have deluxe double rooms, standard twin rooms, and single rooms available. I highly recommend staying at Mitsui Kyoto or Mitsui Hotel Shijo if you want a comfortable and convenient stay in Kyoto.

Dining in Mitsui Hotel Kyoto

Although I didn’t dine at the restaurant during my time at Mitsui Kyoto, I must say that several cheaper options are available on the streets of Kyoto. However, if you’re looking for a top-notch dining experience, I would highly recommend the restaurant on the second floor of Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shijo.

The restaurant offers an excellent Japanese-style buffet breakfast, a great way to start your day. The breakfast spread includes miso soup, rice, grilled fish, tamagoyaki (rolled omelette), and more. The food is fresh, delicious, and presented beautifully.

For dinner, the restaurant has an a-la-carte or set-menu dinner menu that is equally impressive. The dinner menu features a range of Japanese dishes prepared using the freshest and highest quality ingredients. The restaurant’s ambience is warm and inviting, and the service is exceptional.

If you want a memorable dining experience in Kyoto, I highly recommend Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shijo’s restaurant. It’s worth a visit!

The Friendly Staff

I didn’t have much to do with the staff during my stay at the hotel, which is good because it meant I didn’t have anything to complain about and could do my business. Their politeness in a day-to-day manner was evident from the moment I checked in, which is typical in Japan, and it made walking through the main lobby a joyful experience.

Whether I was leaving the hotel for the day or upon return, a staff member would always greet me from the reception desk with a warm smile. Several staff members could speak English and lend a helping hand if there were any issues during the stay.

Other features of Mitsui Kyoto Shijo

The Mitsui Kyoto Shijo offers a range of amenities to ensure a comfortable stay for its guests. Apart from the cozy and well-appointed rooms, the hotel boasts a traditional Japanese bathhouse that’s typical in the country. The bathhouse is the perfect place to unwind and relax for an hour or two in the warm waters of the bath, which is suitable for men and women.

In addition, vending machines are conveniently located on each floor by the elevator. These machines are filled with various beverages, such as beer, cold coffee, soft drinks, green tea, and water. So, if you feel thirsty or need a quick refreshment, you can get those famous Japanese coins out and go to the vending machine for a drink. This thoughtful feature ensures that the guests have everything they need within easy reach, making their stay at Mitsui Kyoto Shijo a hassle-free experience.

The good bits

There is a lot to like about Mitsui Kyoto Shijo. The hotel is clean, quiet, and in a convenient part of Kyoto, making it ideal for any traveller to the city.

The cleanliness of the hotel is evident from the get-go, with a speck of dust hard to find. Everything is clean, including the main lobby, lounge area, and private room. The quiet hallways of the hotel are a relief, especially when in desperate need of a good night’s sleep and you don’t want disturbance from other guests, which doesn’t become a problem.

The bad bits

There are not too many negatives to discuss the hotel; however, since the kindness of my heart is doing this review, I’ll attempt to be a little picky.

I love to have an in-room coffee, and when only green tea is available in the hotel room, it makes me a little grumpy when I desperately need a coffee boost. Luckily, I bring my coffee on my travels, so it becomes a non-issue, to be honest.

The portable air-conditioner? I never really got it right; it was loud and never quite cold enough for a Kyoto summer; perhaps it had to do with the whole system being in Japanese writing, and I could never understand how to use it properly.

Fair Dinkum Traveller rating

When I stepped into the Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shijo, I knew I was in for a great experience. As a seasoned traveller, I have stayed in many hotels worldwide, and while I have experienced more lavish accommodations, the Mitsui Kyoto Hotel more than met my expectations.

The attention to detail, from the cleanliness of the rooms to the friendly and helpful staff, was exceptional. And at $110 per night, the price was more than reasonable for a hotel of this calibre in Japan.

I highly recommend the Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shijo to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Kyoto. It’s clear from the outset that I am a fan of the Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shijo, which was undoubtedly the case.

Perhaps I have stayed in more elegant hotels in my travels around the world, but the Mitsui Kyoto Hotel satisfied my demands, and it was worth the $110 per night I paid to stay at the hotel; for a Japanese hotel, the price is not bad.
