How To Have the Best Travel Videos

How To Have the Best Travel Videos

travel photos

Capturing your travel memories in video form can be a great way to enhance the experience. While some may hire a professional filmmaker, you don’t need to be one to make sure your videos reflect all your travels entail. Think of how you want them to represent your journey – not just what you saw but also the associated knowledge and emotions.

Simple adjustments, such as using natural light, including details of everyday life from the area, and filming from different angles, can go a long way in ensuring your travel videos show off the best of what each destination offers. These steps will ensure you have the best travel videos long after completing your journey.

How To Have the Best Travel Videos

Travelling is a great way to experience the world; capturing your travel memories can improve the experience. When you take videos, ensure they reflect the knowledge, emotions, and other aspects that define your travel. The good news is that you can have a different talent than a professional filmmaker to achieve this.

Here are some tips on how to ensure your videos are as good as they can be:

Edit Your Videos of Your Adventures

Editing makes a video (even a poor-quality one) look great. Cutting, arranging, and manipulating video shots using beauty elements is the process. Here’s how to do video editing to make your short film look great:

• Flip mirrored videos – If you flip videos online, you fix all mirrored elements. For example, if you recorded yourself in front of a hotel mirror, some aspects of the video (such as names and shapes) may appear reversed. You may also want to flip upright videos to enhance their beauty.

• Add slow motion – Slow-motion videos capture the beauty of whatever you see. The effect builds suspense, encouraging viewers to pay more attention to certain parts of your videos. There are several ways to make slow-motion videos — you can use a high-speed camera, the slow-motion feature on your phone’s camera, or video editing software.

• Create time-lapses – Time-lapses are great for showing things like clouds moving across the sky or sunrises and sunsets; the feature makes events appear as if they’re taking place too fast. And if you’re into photography, you can use them as an artistic medium by creating some beautiful videos out of them.

• Add a soundtrack – Music can make a video more interesting, but you must be careful. You can use music that is in the public domain (under permission), or you can use your music. You can also use royalty-free music to avoid copyright issues.

Try To Keep Videos Short

Making short videos is particularly important if you publish travel videos online. Understand that there are already many exciting videos online, and people no longer have time to watch long videos — this could be why almost all social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram, have a reels section.

A good rule of thumb is to keep your videos under two minutes. If you’re filming yourself travelling through an airport and nothing interesting is happening, try editing out some of those boring parts in post-production so that you remain with what’s important.
You can also go for GIFs if you want. If you are thinking about how to create a GIF from your MP4 this may help. Follow the tricks to convert your videos for free.

Penguin Island Perth

Don’t forget your video camera or phone to make the best travel videos.

Make Chatty Travel Videos

Chatty videos are a great way to share your travel experiences and bring the dazzling sights you’ve taken to life. Going into detail lets you get these places out of just a picture or two and give your friends an immersive slice of your vacation.

Talk about why locations are unique to you by recounting stories connected with them or mentioning things only locals know about; the idea is to make it feel like they’re with you on your expedition!

Your video can also highlight any lessons or reflections you may have had during your trip—showcasing the entire experience for everyone who watches.

A Conclusion on How To Have the Best Travel Videos

Creating great travel videos does not have to be daunting; it can be a lot of fun! Just remember to use the right gear and give yourself plenty of time for filming and editing. With the right attitude and equipment, you will have no problem putting together fabulous travel video creations you can remember fondly.

From capturing stunning aerial shots with your drone to framing up those beautiful sunsets with your gimbal, materializing your vacation memories into a video will be both enjoyable and rewarding.

A Budget Trip to Penang – How To Save Money

The vibrant city of Malaysia offers plenty of activities and attractions that won’t break the bank, allowing visitors to experience the best of Penang without spending all their travel funds. Here are ten budget-friendly ways to enjoy your time in this beautiful Malaysian city.

Use Grab instead of a local Taxi.

Planning a budget trip to Penang doesn’t mean compromising on commuting options; Grab taxi is an excellent budget-friendly ride-sharing app that can help you save cash and get around quickly. Unlike taking a conventional local taxi, Grab taxi can be much cheaper.

Plus, there are usually promotional deals that further reduce the cost of transportation. This intelligent and budget-friendly solution will take you from point A to point B with ease and comfort, making your Penang journey more enjoyable!

Save Extra Money by Catching a bus.

Planning my budget trip to Penang, I was pleasantly surprised when I heard about the local buses. Taking a journey on the bus is an experience – you get a chance to observe the locals going about their daily lives and savour a taste of the history and culture of this vibrant town.

It’s an ideal way to get around if you’ve got time to spend and are willing to be patient. With just a few ringgit, you can ride along scenic routes to beautiful destinations such as Batu Ferringhi or Penang National Park. It’s an economical way of meeting your budget while still being able to explore the sights Penang has to offer.

Visit Museums that are history lessons on the cheap.

Visiting museums is an excellent budget trip to Penang. With the diverse collection of artifacts, cultural customs and histories, I constantly discover something new each time I stop in.

From Malaysian artwork displayed at the renowned Penang State Art Gallery to the Eastern & Oriental Heritage Trail inside the Peranakan Museum, there are plenty of fascinating items to behold.

Exploring these museums can also be an excellent way for me to gain insights about Penangites who left behind stories that open up my perspectives on topics related to identity, creation and education, which I wouldn’t have known if I had stayed out of them.

Hit the Beach in Penang

When budgeting for a trip to Penang, there’s no need to spend a fortune on fun in the sun. Batu Ferringhi Beach and Teluk Bahang Beach offer great beach vibes without breaking the bank.

For those looking for a lively spot, Batu Ferringhi Beach is the most popular beach on the island, and it is ideal for sunbathing, swimming and socializing with friends. If you are searching for something more tranquil and secluded, Teluk Bahang Beach is an excellent choice, as it’s surrounded by stunning scenery and locals from nearby fishing villages.

So, if you want budget-friendly fun without sacrificing an insta-worthy experience, Penang’s beaches are an ideal option!

Explore Penang Hill

For budget travellers looking for a perfect adventure trip to Penang, look no further than Penang Hill. Not only does it have all the sights and spectacles of Georgetown at its feet, but it also allows you to experience nature in a budget-friendly way.

Every traveller should take advantage of the funicular train and ride up the hill—it’s only RM30/US$7 roundtrip! But if you want to get up close and personal with nature, try taking the various trails that wind up to the peak. Of course, ensure you bring plenty of water and snacks—it’ll be worth it!

Penang hill hiking

Penang Hill hiking, are you brave enough for the climb?

Take Advantage of Free wi-fi Hotspots.

Fortunately, there are plenty of free wi-fi spots in Penang – from cafes such as Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Starbucks (ask for their password) to public places like shopping malls and tourist attractions like Kek Lok Si Temple (which has its public wi-fi network).

These hotspots allow you to stay connected without paying exorbitant roaming fees. Roaming charges can add up quickly when travelling abroad, so it pays to use free wi-fi hotspots whenever possible.

A cold Frappe is always welcomed at Starbucks, including free WI-FI.

Take Advantage of Free Activities

When budgeting for a trip to Penang, plenty of free activities will help you save some money, whether in the city streets or the beautiful nature of the Island.

I particularly enjoy exploring the temples around the city, such as Kek Lok Si Temple, Wat Chaiyamangkalaram and Dharmikarama Burmese Temple. These places have unique architecture and rich culture; it’s a great way to experience Penang without spending much!

Also, don’t forget to explore Georgetown, where you can find fascinating heritage street art, The Georgetown Heritage Centre, Little India, or walk the streets and take in the vibrant atmosphere. It’s a fantastic way to be immersed in local life and learn about its history.

Shop at Local Markets

Taking a budget trip to Penang? Don’t worry! Shopping at the local markets is one of the best ways to save money. You can find everything from souvenirs and clothes to fresh produce and street food, making it easy to get all the essentials for your trip.

Plus, prices are much lower than other stores you might find, so it pays to check them out when you’re looking for something special without breaking the bank.

When it comes time to make purchases, remember that haggling is expected in many of these markets – feel free to negotiate prices with sellers if you think they’re too high.

Explore Unconventional Hotels and Hostels

If budget trips are your thing, consider Penang. It’s full of unconventional and affordable lodging options that offer something unique for each budget traveller.

Whether you prefer to keep it budget-friendly or indulge in a little more privacy, there’s something here to fit the bill. For instance, budget guesthouses around Georgetown offer incredibly affordable rooms at as little as $10 per night!

If the thought of shared living spaces doesn’t bother you, hostels might be your go-to for budget accommodation, with rates starting from around $5 per night. If you’d instead book a private dwelling without breaking the bank, Airbnb listings come in at about $25 per night — so you can experience Penang within budget!

Little India on Penang Island

Little India on Penang Island is a great place to check in with the culture of Georgetown. During the slight stretch of Little India, I could find traditional Indian restaurants, Hindu temples and even shops selling spices, textiles and other items. It was a great way to experience the vibrant culture of Penang without having to leave Georgetown.

The colours, sounds and smells were so different from what I’m used to, and it was fascinating to learn about a culture I’m unfamiliar with. I recommend visiting Little India if you’re ever in Georgetown.

Visit local Temples and Mosques in Georgetown.

Penang is home to a diverse range of temples and mosques, each with its unique history and architecture.

The Kapitan Keling Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Malaysia, and it is known for its grand design and beautiful gardens. The mosque’s structure was built in 1801 by an Indian Muslim leader and has since been expanded several times. Today, the mosque is one of Penang’s most popular tourist attractions.

Penang is also home to many Chinese temples, including the Kek Lok Si temple, much further out towards the hills, which is one of the largest Buddhist temples in Southeast Asia. The temple was built in 1890 and featured a pagoda with seven floors overlooking the city.

Penang’s temples and mosques offer visitors a glimpse into the religious diversity of Malaysia, and they are well worth a visit.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, and I was blown away by the beauty of the building. The mansion was built in the 19th century and is truly a work of art.

The architecture is unique, and the level of detail is incredible. I recommend taking a tour of the mansion. Even if you’re not interested in architecture, the experience is still worth it. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and do a great job explaining the mansion’s history. I left feeling like I had learned something.

Discover the history of the bay at Fort Cornwallis

The last stop on my Georgetown exploration was Fort Cornwallis, a historic fort that dates back to the 19th century. It’s a great place to wander around and admire its incredible architecture while learning about Penang’s history.

On a hot day, it’s also the ideal stop for an iced coffee and cake. I sat down at one of the cafe tables and took in the fort that sits around you. It’s truly amazing to think about all that has happened within these walls over the years.

Fort Cornwallis has seen it all, from its original construction by the British to its use as a Japanese prison during World War II. Today, it is a testament to Penang’s past and its vibrant present.
